Martínez Nieto S.A. joining Earth Hour 2022
- Martínez Nieto joins one more year the global movement against climate change by switching off the lights on March 26th.
- The company also supports the awareness campaign and act with sustainable and energy-saving measures.
For one more year, Martínez Nieto, S.A joins the worldwide initiative ‘Earth Hour’, promoted by the non-profit organization WWF. (World Wide Fund for Nature).
At the company’s facilities in the Los Camachos industrial park in Cartagena, the lights, illuminated signs and electronic devices will be switched off on 26 March between 20:30 and 21:30.
In addition, the company joins the awareness campaign through social networks, website, and its internal newsletter, to encourage all employees, customers and collaborators to join Earth Hour.
With this action, Martínez Nieto wants to raise awareness of the importance of fighting climate change and taking sustainable and energy-saving measures.
Earth Hour 2022: share awareness
As in previous years, WWF is once again inviting us all to take part in this movement under the slogan #Connect2earth.
“Today, Earth Hour aims to increase awareness and spark global conversations on protecting nature, tackling the climate crisis, and working together to shape a brighter future for us all”, explain the organizers.
Martínez Nieto invites all its employees and customers to participate in this initiative also on an individual basis. The more the merrier, the greater the global impact.
Environmental and energy efficiency commitment
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, Martínez Nieto has a Sustainable Development program ‘MARNYS PLANET’, with a series of actions aimed at reducing waste and emissions, conserving water and energy, recycling materials and enhancing environmental conservation efforts.
The company has managed to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by more than 37% in two years. Through different actions, such as the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS), the self-consumption photovoltaic plant and improvements in lighting, air conditioning and insulation, the company has also achieved the Class A Energy Efficiency Certificate for its facilities.
